Task Summary

 

This assessment task requires you to choose one of three contemporary learning and teaching approaches and identify key opportunities related to your practice in education in the form of a presentation.

Context

This assessment task is designed to help you to articulate your professional identity and align this with the Theories of learning you aim to embed in your educational practice. It will help provide insight into your teaching and support the development and maintenance of your professional expertise. Designing a presentation about teaching and learning approaches can be a powerful impact us for focusing your thoughts, development, growth, and changes in attitudes and awareness which can frame these within broader theory and practice

Task Instructions

 Drawing on readings and activities undertaken in this subject, you will prepare a presentation (lasting 15 minutes).

 

Your presentation can be a Power Point with 15 content slides (The cover slide and Reference List will not be included in this count), a Prezi, a Powtoon or a short video.

 

Step1:

 

Choose one of the following contemporary teaching and learning approaches:

o   Transformative Learning OR

o   Active Learning OR

o   Problem-based Learning

 

Step2:

 

Create a presentation identifying how you would apply this contemporary teaching and learning approach within your own educational context. Explain:

o   The learning and teaching approach you have chosen

o   The context of your teaching(e.g. subject, class level, number of students),

o    How you would use this approach in your educational context – give specific examples

o    Why you would use it.

o    How your emerging professional identity aligns with and reflects the particular skills, knowledge, and experience, involved with this contemporary teaching and learning approach.

Submit your presentation, oral ink to your presentation, via the Assessment link in the main navigation menu in ECP404 Educational Contexts and Professional Identities. The Learning Facilitator will provide feedback via the Grade Centre in the LMS portal. Feedback can be viewed in My Grades.
